Give it the Old College Try. Carry it every day.
The Knafs O.C.T. (Old College Try) Pocket Knife is a compact, fidget-friendly EDC built around experimentation, growth, and doing things a little differently. Designed by Matt “Fitz” Fitzgerald and backed by Ben Petersen, the O.C.T. represents a new chapter for Knafs—pushing into fresh territory with their first-ever button lock.
Small in size but big in personality, the O.C.T. features a 1.9” Wharncliffe blade made from 14C28N stainless steel, offering a balanced mix of toughness, corrosion resistance, and easy maintenance.
The straight cutting edge gives you precise control for everyday tasks, while the compact footprint keeps it practical and easy to carry.
What really sets this knife apart is its action. Built with caged ceramic bearings and a button lock, the O.C.T. delivers smooth deployment and a fidget factor that’s hard to put down.
The blue anodized 6063 aluminum handle keeps things lightweight while still providing a confident grip, with subtle ergonomic shaping that makes the knife feel bigger than it actually is in hand.
The Story Behind the O.C.T.
“Old College Try” isn’t just a name—it’s the origin of this knife. Designed during late nights and long hours of prototyping, the O.C.T. represents taking a shot, learning along the way, and building something real out of it.
It’s Knafs leaning into creativity, risk, and progress—and it shows in every detail.
Why We Carry It at Howling Dog EDC
