In the 1980’s, the original Spyderco Endura blazed a trail as one of the first lightweight clip-carry folding knives. Today it remains one of Spyderco’s most popular models and continues to set the standard for all other knives of its breed. Now in its fourth generation, it has also inspired a broad range of variations to meet virtually every user’s needs and preferences.nAll Endura 4 Lightweights are distinguished by their skeletonized stainless steel liners and injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handles. This specific version of the design features a blunt, round-tipped blade machined from AUS-6 stainless steel. The holes in the blade reduce its weight to be comparable to that of its live-blade cousin and, along with the red FRN handle scales, allow it to be instantly recognized as a training tool. All other aspects of the knife—including its sturdy back lock mechanism and four-position hourglass clip—are faithful to the sharpened versions it represents. In this way, it can be used to seamlessly flow from carry, to drawn and deployment, to safe contact with a training partner.
